Regardless of ongoing security issues about its platform, Revel is broadening into San Francisco As The Brink notes, Monday’s announcement is not the electric moped rental company’s very first expansion into the Bay Location; it also operates in Berkeley and across the Bay Bridge in Oakland. San Francisco area users will have access to a somewhat various moped than the one available in other markets. The 430 brand-new vehicles feature 2,960- watt motors “developed to deal with those well-known SF hills.”
Today we’re relaunching Revel in the city where all of it started. We’re rolling out brand-new and improved education, security, and accountability functions, and there are a few things you’ll need to do to begin riding again. (1/3) pic.twitter.com/WVySpa2j1L

As pointed out above, the expansion comes as Revel faces concerns about the security of its platform. In July, the business temporarily suspended service in New york city City after at least 2 people died— and dozens more injured themselves– riding its mopeds. On August 27 th, Revel returned to New York City with brand-new precaution. The company now requires all users to finish a compulsory in-app security test, along with snap a photo of themselves using a helmet before they can use among its mopeds. However concerns stay. How does the company confirm someone hasn’t taken off their helmet after sending a selfie?
